Alfredo Escalera Wants to Punish Tinsley for Running His Mouth

"I don’t want to knock him out. I want lump him up really good."

BoxingTalk:  Alfredo, what have you been up to since your last fight with Harvey Jolley this past summer?

Alfredo Escalera:  I’m still training looking to step in the ring on December 5th.   Right now I’m scheduled to face DeLeon Tinsley. He’s an Orlando boy and apparently has decent hands with a couple knockouts.  I know he was knocked out in his last fight with Aaron Williams.  But I don’t expect he is going to be anything too spectacular for me.  I also know he has a mouth on him.

BoxingTalk:  What are you going to do to shut him up?

Alfredo Escalera:  I don’t want to knock him out.  I want lump him up really good.

BoxingTalk:  You were down in the first round in that fight.  What do you feel you learned from that experience?

Alfredo Escalera:  I went into the fight underestimating my opponent.  He hit with some good shots, but I didn’t feel injured, and I quickly recovered.

BoxingTalk:  What can we expect to see from you in the ring on December 5th?

Alfredo Escalera:  You’ll see a lot of counter-punching, some boxing, and some flash.  My hand speed is good, and I’ve been working a lot on in fighting.  I’ll do what needs to be done on the 5th.

BoxingTalk:  What can we expect to see from you in 2008?

Alfredo Escalera:  I’m hoping it starts off with higher quality opponents and you can look for a top-10, top-15 ranking.  Hopefully by end of the year I’ll have a world title.

BoxingTalk:  What would you like to say to those who will be coming out to see your next fight?

Alfredo Escalera:  They can all look forward to a battle, and they can expect that I’m going to give them a crowd-pleasing fight.  I’ll cut him up, knock him down a couple times, and they’ll see I have no fear in my heart

BoxingTalk:  Besides a win, what prediction do you want to make for the 5th?

Alfredo Escalera:  I’d like to say that he’ll stop on his own. I’ll make him quit.
