Junior middleweight contender Joachim Alcine (22-0, 15 KOs) will be fighting former WBA junior middleweight titleholder Carl Daniels (49-5-1, 31 KO) at the Casino de Montréal on April 9, 2005. Jose Valera, the fighter who was originally scheduled to face Alcine, was unable to secure a visa. This fight between Alcine (rated #11 by Boxingtalk)and Daniels will come at a catch weight of 158 lbs. Daniels, 34, may be at the end of the road, but he has a lot of experience, from his fights against Bernard Hopkins and Terry Norris. He has been in title bouts five times in his career, winning the vacant 154 lb. WBA title against Julio Cesar Green back in June 1995.
