Alantez Fox planning to smash Brinson to get back into fast lane

Greg Leon: How has everything gone in camp? What can we expect to see from you against Nick Brinson (19-4-2) this weekend? Alantez Fox: "Everything is going well. Boxing fans can expect to see a show this weekend. I'm not here to bullshit. Nick Brinson is not one to be slacking off for or overlook, but I feel like if I can't beat Nick Brinson then I shouldn't be going to the next level. I'm ready, I'm going to box my ass off like I always say."

GL: Why haven't you fought since September?

AF: "There's been a lot of turn downs. We've had a lot of fights scheduled, weeks in advance and a lot of people have been turning it down. My manager and promoter, Mike Borao and Lou DiBella, have been working to make fights, but the other parties are turning me down."

GL: Are you concerned about ring rust at all?

AF: "I was thinking about it, it has been a while, but at the same time we train for opportunities, not events. I plan to shake that off real fast."

GL: What did you think about your brother's performance [Mykal Fox defeated 2016 Olympic champion Fazliddin Gaibnazarov]?

AF: "I thought it was great, I really hated the commentary to be honest with you. They were overly biased. I know this was a Top Rank fighter and he was the A side, but at the same time when you see somebody lose you should call it how it is. Christina Poncher was on there accusing the referee of cheating, but when you commit legitimate fouls you should have points taken away. In his last fight on Showtime Bill Clancy didn't take any points like he should have or he would have won that fight too, but it is what it is"

GL: What do you want a win over Brinson to lead to?

AF: "Hopefully some much bigger opportunities, like the ones I've been getting turned down for. I'd like some of those back. We're just going to keep moving forward, I'm going to let my advisor and promoter handle it and I'm going to keep moving forward and doing what I've got to do to make their jobs easier."

GL: Is Brinson going the distance?

AF: "I don't think so. I'm not going in there for the stopage when it comes I"m taking it. I feel like I'm a high level fighter and he's not on my level. I should make an impressive showing and I feel like I'm almost supposed to get a stoppage."

GL: What did you think about Canelo Alvarez vs. Danny Jacobs?

AF: "I see a lot of people saying that Jacobs got robbed, but to me he didn't do anything. He didn't do anything near what I thought he would do. I was expecting him to go in there and put up a fight and it seemed like he was scared. He didn't let his hands go at all, I feel like he fought more with GGG, but maybe Canelo was packing some serious thunder because Danny Jacobs never really opened up on Canelo."

GL: Closing thoughts for the fans.

AF: "Follow my on everything @slyazafox enjoy the show this weekend. My brother and I are going to be leading by example, we're ready to do this!"
