After a cautious start, super middleweight Ali Akhmedov, 167.8 lbs., from Venice, California, by way of Almaty, Kazakhstan, found a rhythm to dominate Philadlephia-born Gabriel Rosado, 167.6 lbs for ten one-sided rounds. Akhmedov was the busier fighter throughout, as Rosado primarily looked for opportunities to counter. Akhmedov pressed the action, landing stiff jabs and throwing combinations when in close. He was able to easily evade Rosado’s increasingly wild swings as the bout progressed. In the final six minutes, a desperate Rosado took more risks, but it allowed Akhmedov to find the target even more. With three shutout tallies of 100-90, Akhmedov is now 19-1 with 14 KOs). The game veteran Rosado dipped to 26-16-1 (15 KOs).
