Akane Fujiwara W8 Jittamat Phomta… Akane Fujiwara captured the vacant OPBF female junior featherweight championship with a unanimous decision over Thailand's Jittamat Phomta on July 18th at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. Fujiwara (10-5-1) moved up from bantamweight to claim the 122-pound regional title against Phomta (11-15-1). Both fighters were competitive from the opening round, but Fujiwara's accuracy and ring generalship proved decisive over eight rounds. The judges scored the bout 77-75 and 78-74 (twice) in favor of the Japanese fighter. The victory earned Fujiwara her first OPBF title.
