Press Release: Prince Badi Ajamu is training in Boise, Idaho for his July 29, 2006 fight against five-time world champion Roy Jones, Jr., on the "Hold Nothing Back!" pay-per-view show at Boise’s Qwest Arena. Prince Badi (25-2-1, 14 KOs) defends his regional light heavyweight title against Jones (49-4, 38 KOs) in the twelve-round main event. "I arrived here last Friday to get acclimated (to the high altitude) and situated," Prince Badi said about training in Boise. "It's going to make a difference, too. Training camp has been going very well. I really like Boise and the people here have welcomed me with open arms."
Â
Prince Badi has dedicated the fight to his cousin, the late two-time world heavyweight champion Floyd Patterson (1956-59, 1960-61), as well as all the fighters from Philadelphia (where Prince learned how to box) and New Jersey who never got their big shot.
Â
Another Silverhawk Boxing, former IBF light heavyweight champion William "KO King" Guthrie (33-3-2, 26 KOs), arrives Saturday morning in Boise to continue training for his bout against Luke Munsen (19-5, 13 KOs). Silverhawk Boxing believes in the importance of serious training to get our fighters as prepared (to fight in high altitude) as possible," Silverhawk Boxing president Dennis Rider noted why the Prince Badi and Guthrie training camps have moved to Boise from Vero Beach (FL).
