African boxing update

Two bouts sacntioned by the WBF in a five-day period headline shows in South Africa and Botswana on August 21st and August 26th respectively.  On Sunday August 21st at Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sports Complex in Polokwane, South Africa, lightweight Ayanda Nkosi, (14-1 with 8 KOs), hosts Filipino Carlo Magali (25-13-3 with 13 KOs). Magalio is listed as the reigning Philippines national champion. On Friday, August 26th in Gaborone, Botswana, local hero Steven Bagwasi (7-1 with 2 KOs) faces the vastly more experienced Tanzanian Said Chino (19-9-2 with 14 KOs) in the super featherweight category. Bagwasi is riding a three-fight winning-streak since moving up in weight and suffering his sole defeat, by decision in South Africa, to the aforementioned Nkosi in November of 2018.The Botswanan fight will be the main event of a show promoted by Scud Missile Promotions at UB Indoor Sports Arena, and will be broadcast live by BTV.
