Abraham disappointed with Sturm

Wilfried Sauerland has offered Felix Sturm 1.5 million euros for a unification clash with IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham. Team Sauerland have filed an official offer for a showdown in Germany on July 19. However, Sturm once again failed to respond. “Sturm told everyone he wanted to fight Arthur and that he would win 24 rounds against him,” Sauerland said. “We are happy to prove him wrong. That´s why we have put a great offer on the table. This is the fight everybody in Germany wants to see.”

To get in the ring with Sturm, King Arthur would even postpone his highly-anticipated US debut which was scheduled for June 21. “I want to become super champion and unify the division,” the unbeaten 28-year-old said. “I fight whoever my manager picks. I would be more than happy to
give Sturm a beating.”

King Arthur boasts an impressive record of 26 wins in as many fights (21 KOs), while WBA champion Sturm has just won four of his last six bouts (29-2, 13 KOs). “We can´t wait to get this fight on,” added Sauerland managing director Chris Meyer, who had submitted the written offer to Universum on Monday. “We´re waiting to hear from Sturm.”
