AEG buys into Golden Boy

The Los Angeles Business Journal reported that a company called AEG will buy a share in Golden Boy Promotions. AEG is building a West Coast sports empire, as it already owns the L.A. Galaxy soccer club, the L.A. Kings hockey team and some major arenas.  “Our new partnership will create so many new synergies from jointly promoting events in their arenas worldwide to exploring new ways to develop successful promotions built around our boxing shows taking place in their facilities,” Oscar "Golden Boy" De La Hoya said in a statement. Interestingly, the report said AEG will become the second-largest shareholder behind De La Hoya, meaning the company owns a greater share than partners Bernard Hopkins, Shane Mosley and Marco Antonio Barrera.
