ACELINO FREITAS MEETS BRAZILIAN PRESIDENT

PRESENTS HIM WITH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BELT

WBO lightweight world champion Acelino Freitas was invited to a meeting last Monday with Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in Brasilia, the capitol of Brazil, where the president congratulated Acelino on becoming the first Brazilian to win four boxing world championships. The former WBO and WBA jr. lightweight world champion, Acelino won the WBO lightweight world title for the second time in April. During the meeting, Acelino presented his world championship belt as a gift to President Lula, who tried it on but found that it was too small for him to buckle. The president commented, "It's because I'm a heavyweight." Freitas said, "I'll vote him in again." Banner Promotions president Art Pelullo said, "We are all very proud of Acelino and his great accomplishments."
