A few words with Rolly Romero

Former WBA 140-pound title holder Rolando “Rolly” Romero worked out for the media on Tuesday. On September 14th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Romero will take on Manuel Jaimes in the pay-per-view opening bout. at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The main event that night sees Saul "Canelo" Álvarez putting his world super middleweight championship  on the line against unbeaten Edgar Berlanga. Here is what Romero had to say Tuesday from the Pound 4 Pound Gym in Las Vegas:
 
“Every time I get into the ring, everyone has a great time, especially the fans. That’s all that matters. I’m coming to show everyone a vicious knockout.
 
“I’m feeling really good. I don’t feel like I needed to say anything to Jaimes at the press conference in Los Angeles. I just really think he’s happy to be here.
 
“I kind of fell out of love with boxing a few years ago, but after that time, I came back and realized that boxing was my true love. I had forgotten that for a while.”
 
Canelo vs. Berlanga will deliver the latest installment of the historic Mexico vs. Puerto Rico rivalry in a Mexican Independence Day weekend extravaganza topping a PBC Pay-Per-View event available on Prime Video taking place Saturday, Sept. 14th from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
 
The chief supporting bout will feature WBA middleweight champion Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara taking on hard-hitting former two-division world champion and Puerto Rican star Danny “Swift” García in a twelve-round showdown between two of this era’s most accomplished fighters.
 
Plus, former IBF super middleweight champion Caleb Plant will face undefeated Trevor McCumby for the WBA interim belt at super middleweight.
 
Preceding the pay-per-view, former two-belt 122 pound champion Stephen Fulton Jr. will take on all-action contender Carlos Castro in a featherweight clash that will headline a three-fight PBC on Prime Video lineup. The live-streaming action will begin at 6:00 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. PT and be available via free access to all fans, regardless of Prime membership or purchase of the PPV card it leads into.
 
The streaming presentation will also feature hard-hitting welterweight Roiman Villa dueling Mexico’s Ricardo Salas in a ten-round battle, plus unbeaten Jonathan Lopez squares off against Richard Medina in an eight-round super featherweight clash that kicks off the action.
