8 Count Productions Continues To Present The Finest In Chicagoland Professional Boxing

Press Release: Aldo "Pato" Valtierra, 21-6 (11KO's) of Mexico City, Mexico returns to Chicagoland to face undefeated, world ranked featherweight Steven Luevano, 25-0, (12KO's) of La Puente, CA in the ten round main event on Friday, November 5th as TELEFUTURA'S SOLO BOXEO is broadcast live from the Hawthorne Race Course for an unprecedented third straight month in a row. The full evening, featuring Chicagoland's finest professional boxing, is presented by Dominic Pesoli's 8 Count Productions along with Bob Arum's Top Rank Incorporated  and Miller Lite.

Tickets, starting with RESERVED general admission at $25, can be purchased in advance by calling 312-226-5800. The Hawthorne Race Course is located at 35th and Laramie and is easily accessible, just minutes from both the Stevenson and Eisenhower expressways.

I am particularly proud of  televising this event on Solo Boxeo on  Telefutura. This is an important televised series on which many Top Rank champions, contenders and future stars have appeared  on the last several years."

Stated Dominic Pesoli about the change in the main event, "Valtierra is a very tough Mexican fighter, he fought on our card in Elgin against Chelo Diaz a few years back in a a fantastic battle that showed the true warrior spirit of both fighters. We're very happy to have him back as he exemplifies what LATIN WARRIORS is all about. Luevano is an undefeated, world ranked guy and this fight should be an all out war. Luevano is looking to continue his rise in the rankings and Valtierra is looking to get back in the mix. They both need a win for different reasons and it should be a great fight." Valtierra is currently on a four bout winning streak.

Luevano has appeared numerous times on the SOLO BOXEO series, his most recent victory coming just four weeks ago in a shutout decision win over highly rated Cristian Favela broadcast live from Laughlin, NV. Speaking about the upcoming bout, Luevano said "This is my first time fighting in Chicago and I'm looking forward to putting on a terrific show for the huge local Latin and American audience at Hawthorne. They'll definitely get their monies worth from coming to see me. Speaking about his future, Mexican Luevano said, "I'm not looking past Valtierra, he's a very tough guy, but I've love to fight Juan Manuel Marquez, Eric Morales or Marco Antonio Barrera." Asked about his start in boxing, the 2000 Olympic Alternate said, "I watched Julio Cesar Chavez at an early age and said that's what I want to do, I was hooked."

The co-main event features an eight round lightweight battle between KO artist Raymond "Sugar Ray Narh, 11-1 (10KO's) of Accra, Ghana and Fort Worth, Texas native Rogelio Barron, 9-3 (3KO's).

Also on the action packed card, Chicagoand "Classy" Freddie Cuevas, 23-7-1, (16KO's) takes on Danny Neal, 8-4-1 (2KO's) of Columbus, OH in a junior middleweight bout.

Additionally, local favorite Oscar Bravo, 20-2 (17KO's) returns to the 8 Count Productions ring in a super middleweight special attraction.

Chicago native Trinidad Garcia, 3-0-1 takes on Joe Lynch, 2-0 (1KO) of Buffalo, Minnesota in a scheduled six round welterweight bout.

Making their pro debuts are former local amateur standouts junior middleweight George Gonzales and super middleweight Ottu Holifield in separate four round bouts. Gonzales is a three-time Chicago Golden Glove champion and a two-time National Champion. Holifield is a former 2001 National Golden Gloves Silver Medalist.

The open to the public weigh in will be held at Papa T's Pizza Pub, 7138 W. 79th Street in Chicago at 7pm on Thursday, November 4th.
