Domestic bantamweight rivals Akani Sambu and Sabelo Cebekhulu will clash in a pick-em fight on June 27th at the Khoroni Hotel Casino in Thohoyandou, South Africa. Sambu (6-1-1 with 3 KOs), will face fellow South African Sabelo Cebekhulu (7-1 with 3 KOs), in the headlining fight of a show billed as “Survival of the Fittest”, staged by Mama Rocks Boxing Promotions. Having pocked up a big win in October of 2023, beating Joshua Studdard, Sambu retunred almost exactly a year later by fending off the game challenge of Tanzanian John Chuwa. Cebekhulu's big moment came in December of 2022 when he stopped Mawande Matroos in two rounds. In his most recent outing he came up short but he is now determined to bounce back in style by defeating Sambu. On paper this looks like a fifty-fifty fight, and could literally come down to who is fittest on the night. Survival of the Fittest, Sambu or Cebekhulu?
