1968 Olympic champ Francisco "Morochito" Rodríguez dies at 78

The WBC reports that former Olympic gold medal winner Francisco "Morochito" Rodríguez died at the age of 78. At the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City Rodriguez represented Venezuela and won the gold medal in the inaugural men's light flyweight competition.  In, he won gold at the 1967 and 1971 Pan American Games and carried the flag for Venezuela at the opening ceremony at the 1972 Summer Olympics. He never turned pro. Boxingtalk joins the WBC in sending its sympathies to the friends and family of Olympic champion Francisco "Morochito" Rodríguez.
