122-pound contenders to clash in Cicero, IL

Press Release: Professional boxing returns to Cicero Stadium near Chicago on Friday, December 1, 2006 as Ricardo Castillo faces Takalani Ndlovu in an IBO super bantamweight world title fight.  Castillo, 27-2 with 17KOs, from Mexicali, Mexico, will be making his second appearance in the Chicagoland area, having beaten Hugo Vargas on December 3, 2005 by unanimous decision at the Aragon Ballroom. Castillo has won seventeen bouts in a row. His brother, former lightweight world champion, Jose Luis Castillo, will accompany Ricardo to the ring. Ndlovu, 26-3 with 17KOs, is from Johannesburg, South Africa. He is riding a five-bout winning streak, most recently knocking out former world title challenger Giovanni Andrade on May 25th in Carnival City, South Africa. He is one of the rare South African boxers who has had success in the United States. Also featured on the card are undefeated Polish  boxers, junior middleweight Andrzej Fonfara and super middleweight Victor Polakov.
