105-pound champs win title bouts in Asia

Eagle Kyowa W12 Rodel Mayol... Eagle Kyowa, a Thai boxing out of Japan, retained the WBC 105-pound title by unanimous decision over Rodel Mayol in the champion's adopted homeland. Kyowa took the final five rounds and floored the Phillipine challenger in the last round to win by scores of 115-112, 114-113 and 117-110. Kyowa improved to 16-1 with six knockouts. It was Mayol's first loss in 23 bouts. source: Associated Press

Muhammad Rachman KO6 Omar Soto... In Jakarta, another champion kept his minimumweight championship as Indonesia's Muhammad Rachman held onto the IBF version of the title with a knock out of Omar Soto in the sixth round. Rachman (51-7-4, 23 knockouts) won the title in September 2004 with a split decision over Colombian Daniel Reyes. Soto (15-3-1, 10 knockouts) beat Reyes in February 2005 to become the No. 1 contender.  source: Associated Press
