"Rated R" as in Ready For Title Shot

ShoBox report

Kendall Holt W12 Isaac Hlatshwayo... Kendall "Rated R" Holt was too powerful for Isaac Hlatshwayo and punished the South African towards the end of their twelve-round junior welterweight bout en route to a unanimous decision by scores of 116-109 and 119-106 (twice). Holt decked Hlatshwayo three times, including once in the eleventh and once in the twelfth, and the fight should have been stopped in the last round but the referee seemed to be oblivious to Hlatshwayo, who was obviously exhausted. Holt told Boxingtalk the year-long layoff would not be a factor and he was true to his word, getting better as the Atlantic City fight went on. Holt is now 20-1, has a regional belt around his waist, and is established as a legitimate 140-pound contender. For Hlatshwayo, who was also cut over his eye, his first loss in 27 pro fights (he's 25-1 with 1 no contest) will be a bitter pill to swallow, like so many South African contenders who get beaten on American soil. source: ShoBox on Showtime

Shamone Alvarez W8 Enrique Guiterrez... The key moment in the welterweight contest between Shamone Alvarez and Enrique Gutierrez came in the first round. Both men landed punches at the same time, and Gutierrez seemed to land the better shot, but his glove touched the canvas and he was on the wrong end of a flash knockdown. That sequence cost him a draw, as Alvarez went on to win a unanimous decision, 76-75, 77-74 and 76-76.  Guided by the family of the late lightweight champion Leavander Johnson, Alvarez, fighting in his hometown of Atlantic City, New Jersey on a Duva Boxing  card, improved to 16-0. Gutierrez came on late, but takes his first career loss and drops to 10-1. source: ShoBox on Showtime
