"What will surprise Guinn is when he sees how strong I am on the inside."
BoxingTalk: Eddie, you have a tough fight coming up against Dominick Guinn on May 4th. How is preparation going for that fight?Eddie Chambers: It’s been good. I going to camp in Florida to spar with some good fighters and get well prepared.
BoxingTalk: What are your thoughts as Guinn as a fighter?Eddie Chambers: He’s a pretty sound fighter technically. Sometimes he weighs a little too much, but he’s pretty good. Guinn can still can come up and be a force in this division anytime, so I know I’ll have my work cut out for me.
BoxingTalk: Last time we saw you in action, you stopped the previously undefeated Derrick Rossy. How do you feel that win will help you against Guinn?Eddie Chambers: Guinn is a decent boxer and he comes forward a lot. I know he’s going to be aggressive early, and I know that he can probably handle what I bring.
BoxingTalk: What do you feel will be your biggest advantage when facing Guinn?Eddie Chambers: First off, my speed. I’m pretty fast, and Guinn is not a big mover. He’s not sluggish, but he just doesn’t move around much. What will surprise Guinn is when he sees how strong I am on the inside.
BoxingTalk: How will you train differently for this fight compared to your fight against Rossey?Eddie Chambers: I train hard for all of my fights. I’m always in shape and always ready.
BoxingTalk: Looking at the opposition the both of you have faced, it is easy to tell that this is a big step up for you. Do you feel you have what it takes to go up against Guinn at this point in your career?Eddie Chambers: Of course. This step is necessary for me to take. I can fight anyone in this division, and I’m ready for anyone. I’ll have to face them eventually. This will just be one of the tougher guys I have to face on my way up.Â
BoxingTalk: What can we expect from Eddie Chambers on May 4th?Eddie Chambers: The same thing you’ve seen before, but with more movement than before. I can stand toe to toe with Guinn if I have to, but you’ll see more boxing from me, as well has my speed and surprising power.
