Badien Hasso TKO2 David Kerkmann ... Light heavyweight Badien Hasso triumphed with a second-round technical knockout victory over Germany's David Kerkmann on a card promoted by Ahmet Öner at The Address in Mülheim, Germany. Kerkmann (now 32-5) entered the bout with a solid professional résumé but was unable to match Hasso's pace and power. Hasso controlled the action from the outset while performing before Sardar Ismail, General Director of Sports in Kurdistan, who was seated at ringside. The bout ended just 57 seconds into the second round when Hasso (23-0) landed a powerful right hand that dropped Kerkmann to the canvas. Although Kerkmann beat the count, referee Jürgen Langos stopped the contest after determining that the challenger was unable to continue safely.

 

Following the victory, Hasso, who was born in the Kurdistan region, reiterated his desire to compete under the flag of Kurdistan rather than Iraq. Echoing those sentiments, Ismail discussed plans to bring major professional boxing events to Kurdistan, with the immediate goal of staging a card that would allow Hasso to defend his championship before his home fans.
