Greg Leon: We haven't talked in a hot minute. What's the latest and greatest and when can we expect you back in the ring?
Regis Prograis: The sad thing is I don't know. I don't know what's going on with the World Boxing Super Series tournament so I don't know. I'm just kind of still in limbo and really not knowing what the f**k is going on.
GL: So will the WBSS continue or will you be going in another direction?
RP: From what I hear it's supposed to be going on as planned, but it's been taking so long that I'm starting to wonder if it's going to happen. I couldn't tell you.
GL: Is it difficult for you to be in this purgatory where you don't know when you're going to be fighting? Are you training and staying sharp like you would be if you knew there was a date on the horizon?
Regis Prograis: "It's definitely hard. I'm always in the gym anyway and every day, but some days it's hard to go and be motivated because I don't know when I'm going and that's the bad thing about it. It's hard because I want to go to the gym and spar, but I don't because I don't have no fight or nothing."
GL: At what point do you get tired of the waiting game and decide to go in a different direction?
RP: "That might be happening. I think my manager and Lou [DiBella, his promoter] are going to be in touch with the people from the World Boxing Super Series because if they don't get it together, I might have to pull out of the tournament and go somewhere else. I just can't keep waiting like this, so something's got to happen soon. I was thinking I was going to fight at the beginning of this year, like February, but now I don't know what's going on."
GL: Soon like when?
RP: "I don't really want to get into that just yet, let's see what happens when my manager and Lou talk to them, but I'm definitely tired of waiting."
GL: Who do you like, Manny Pacquiao or Adrien Broner?
RP: "I like Pacquiao to win. I see how Broner can beat Pacquiao, but style-wise Broner tries to fight like Floyd Mayweather with all that sh*t he does, but he's not Floyd and once he gets hit, he's going to stop punching and start holding like he always does."
GL: Closing thoughts?
RP: "I hope this tournament continues, that's what would happen in a perfect world. But if it doesn't, 2019 is going to be a very big year for me regardless."
