What's the latest and greatest? When can we expect you back in the ring?
Shohjahon Ergashev: "All has been great! My fight [a win over Zhimin Wang (now 10-3)] was televised on the main channel in Uzbekistan and the whole country saw my win. I am very proud of that experience and look forward to winning a world title very soon. My promoter is working on a fight for me in the summer time. I am currently training in Moscow where I have a huge fan base and would love to fight here and then on to a big fight in the US sometime in the fall.
GL: You're fresh off your first distance fight in a ten rounder, now that you've gotten that experience under your belt who do you want to fight next?
Shohjahon Ergashev: It was a great learning experience for me. I have never been past 3 rounds in a pro fight but I train very hard, so going the distance in a ten round fight is going to make me a better all around fighter, and now I am going back to scoring exciting knockouts!
GL: Who do you like in the Danny Garcia-Shawn Porter fight?
SE: "I like Shawn Porter I think he is busier and slightly more athletic, but itís a close one."
GL: What about Devon Alexander-Andre Berto?
SE: "Good fight I give a slight edge to Berto."
GL: Is there somebody out there you feel would be a great fight for you to take your career to the next level? I'd like some names please.
SE: "I am ready to fight the best! I would fight Regiris Prograis. He is getting a lot of hype as the best one around, I would crush him! Any of the champions Relikh, Traynovskiy, Hooker. I would fight any of the top names in the division. I will let my promoter line them up."
GL: Closing thoughts?
SE: "I look forward to finishing off a big year, fighting in the summer and then coming back to train in Detroit which has become my second home. Stay tuned and thank you for your coverage."
