ALEJANDRA JIMÉNEZ CONSIDERING VACATING HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE
When was the last time you heard of a heavyweight champion vacating a title to move down in weight? Alejandra Jiménez, announced that she will vacate the WBC female heavyweight title, explaining that there are no rivals for her to face. Now 10-0, Jimenez confirmed she will try the super middleweight division, and following discussions with her team and her nutritionist, they consider the change to be reasonable. WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman wants her to take a body mass test proving the proposed weight loss would not be dangerous. Jimenez says she wants a test the water fight at super middleweight to assess just how her body reacts, and Sulaiman said a temporary permit was possible so that she could have a super middleweight trial fight without losing her status as champion.
