GL: Congrats on your victory over Christopher Brooker. Can you give us some thoughts on your performance? My performance was good. It was the first time I went eight rounds. The knockout would have been good, but it was a blessing to get the experience under my belt.
GL: What does gaining that experience against a seasoned guy like Brooker mean to you?
Brandon Robinson: "It was pretty much like a sparring session. I'm learning so much right now that it was almost like I could see what was going to happen before it happened. Obviously sparring and the fight are two different things, but I've been getting soms great work and it's like I said I feel like I could see what was coming before it did."
GL: What are you hoping this win leads to?
BR: "I'm just hoping that it opens up a lot of doors for me. I want to polish my tools and go to different camps, to see what's out there and just continue to elevate my game."
GL: Normally I wouldn't be asking this question, but you've been so active this year that I have to. Was that your last fight of 2017?
BR: "Yes it was. I will be back in the ring in late February or early March."
GL: What are your goals for next year?
BR: "I want to fight at least four more times, keep winning my fights, keep being smart, stay in the gym and keep sharpening my tools. I'm going to be for whatever comes my way."
GL: Are you disappointed that you didn't stop Brooker?
BR: "Somewhat. I've watched the tape like 100 times already and I feel like there were times where I hurt him and didn't just jump on him like I was supposed to. I saw glimpses where he was ready to go and I didn't know if he would still be there if I went for it and shot my load. I just knew I had to be there for eight."
GL: Will it be eight rounders moving forward for now?
BR: "I leave that to my team, whatever they feel like I'm ready for that's what I'm going to do."
GL: Closing thoughts?
BR: "Look out for me, because I'm keeping myself in the gym and I look forward to bringing y'all some good hard fights."
