Daniel Jacobs W12 Luis Arias... In Long Island, New York, Daniel Jacobs cruised to a wide unanimous decision win over Luis Arias in a middleweight bout.  Jacobs was credited with an eleventh-round knockdown when Arias' glove touched the canvas as he dipped down under a Jacobs punch. The knockdown may have been unconvincing but the win sure wasn't.  Jacobs dominated the scorecards by tallies of  118-109, 119-108 and 120-107. He also more than doubled the number of punches landed, 184-88 according to Compubox.  The win was a very nice bounce back for Jacobs (33-2), who was last seen losing a very tight decision to world middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin in March. It was Jacobs' first fight under a new promotional deal with Britain's Matchroom Boxing. Jacobs said he would be ringside with hopes of fighting the winner when Billy Joe Saunders defends the WBO middleweight title against David Lemieux.  The Cuban born Arias falls to 18-1. source: hbo
