GL: How is everything going in preparation for your November 11 bout with Gustavo Vittori? What can we expect to see from you on fight night? Everything has been going great, I'm working hard, we've brought in some left handed sparring partners to help me get more used to his style. It's going good, this is my fifth week up here in Big Bear with four more to go and I'm just looking forward to it. This is a big opportunity for me and I'm going to go out there and do the best I can to come out with the win.
GL: How do you feel you've improved as a fighter with Abel Sanchez now that the two of you have several fights under your belt together?
Alex Saucedo: "This is our fourth camp together and I feel great. I've been improving with each camp and every time I'm here I learn and Abel and I have been getting to know each other more, so everything is coming along really good."
GL: What do you know about Vittori?
AS: "I know he's a tough kid from Argentina, he's lefty and he likes to come forward. He fights like a lot of Argentines that you see out that, kind of like a Maidana, but I think he's got a little bit more boxing skills. It's going to be a great fight and it's going to be a tough fight for us, but that's what I'm getting ready for, that's what I'm expecting. Hopefully we put everything to work that night and everything comes out good."
GL: How do you feel about the new deal Top Rank made with ESPN? I imagine you're thrilled that you're going to be involved with some big events in front of a huge audience.
AS: "It's really awesome, I feel like it's a great opportunity for the sport of boxing and all of the boxers with Top Rank. A lot of fighters are going to get a lot of exposure now and it's awesome. I can't wait to get up there and show everyone what Saucedo is all about."
GL: Abel has made it clear that he wanted to get three to five fights with you before taking a step up. I know you've been wanting to step up for the last couple of fights now, how do you feel about the pace you're being moved?
AS: "It takes time and I've become ok with taking it one fight at a time and seeing how it goes. I'm improving each time out and whenever they think I'm ready for the big fights we'll do them. Until then I'm just going to try to continue to improve in every aspect."
GL: Other than victory do you have a prediction?
AS: "I don't. I'm training extremely hard and I know this guy is going to stand in front of me and he's got some power. My last opponent was a little bit more of a boxing runner type of guy. This is going to be an entertaining fight for the fans, but I know I'm going to win."
GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?
AS: "I appreciate your time for the interview and I want to tell all of the fans to keep on supporting me, keep on following me and I won't let you down."
