WILDER TO FACE STIVERNE ON NOVEMBER 4
By G. Leon
Undefeated WBC heavyweight champion Deontay "The Bronze Bomber" Wilder 38-0 (37), will now face mandatory challenger Bermane Stiverne on November 4. Stiverne, a former WBC champion has only fought once since losing his title to Wilder in 2015, that came in a lackluster effort versus journeyman Derric Rossy. Stiverne was originally going to face Dominic Breazeale as part of a step aside agreement on the undercard, but was moved up to the main event when Luis Ortiz failed a drug test and the WBC was no longer willing to sanction the bout.
