BIG FIGHT LOOMS FOR OMAR CHAVEZ
This Saturday, at the Nuevo Leon Unido Gymnasium of Monterrey, Mexico, Omar Chavez "Businessman" Chavez (36-3-1, 24 KOs) battles Roberto "Threat" Garcia (40-3-0, 24 KOs) in a middleweight bout that will be broadcast throughout Mexico on Azteca 7. Chavez, the son of Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr., has won four in a row, but Garcia has won eleven in a row over the last seven years.
"I'm in excellent shape, combining speed, with great motivation. The fans will see a great fight because Garcia is a strong and very brave. But I myself, will leave with my arm raised," promised Chavez, who trains with Eduardo Montiel, brother and coach of former world champion "Kochulito" Montiel.
"The talent must be accompanied with effort. So, the motivation to get out of there and gain victory has increased. At this point I cannot make mistakes," pledged Chavez.
His father, the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez, who was watching his training camp, commented: "I'm happy with what I've seen, because he's taking things very seriously.. Since his win over Ramon Alvarez, he has changed, but he must keep working hard.
