TIM BRADLEY ANNOUNCES HIS RETIREMENT

Former two-division champion Timothy "Desert Storm" Bradley announced his retirement as an active boxer.  Bradly currently serves as a boxing analyst for ESPN, which has recently increased its participation in the sport.  Just 33 years old, Bradley has a pro record of 33-2-1. Bradley upset Junior Witter in 2008 to gain the WBC 140-pound championship.  He added the WBO belt in 2009 by defeating Kendall Holt and cemented his status as the true world champion at 140 pounds by defeating Devon Alexander in 2011. Bradley moved up to 147 in 2012 and got the biggest win of his career, at least on paper, by defeating Manny Pacquiao, although nearly everyone who saw the fight thought Pacquiao deserved to win. Pacquiao would go on to win two subsequent bouts-- the only two official losses of Bradley's career, but Bradley proved himself to be a warrior of the highest order with wins over Ruslan Providnikov and Juan Manuel Marquez in 2013.  Boxingtalk wishes Timothy Bradley a successful and rewarding retirement. --Scott Shaffer
