GL: Congrats on your latest installment of the Detroit Brawl series. Can you give us some thoughts on the card from top to bottom? This was by far the most successful show of the Detroit Brawl series. With Claressa in the main event the fans came out in droves, it was a great crowd. The crowd was very intense and very involved in the support of their fighters. Claressa did a tremendous job. She's staying busy, her last fight was on Shobox in March and she fought in June for the WBC silver belt in her third fight. She fought a very tough girl that came to fight. Even though she was a late replacement, she had a fight scheduled for herself on the following night so she came to challenge herself. Claressa is just a super athlete and a tremendous fighter. She did a great, great job in capturing the belt. We're working on something very significant for her that should be announced in the coming days.
"The co-feature was Alexey Zubov and Demetrius Banks in a crossroads fight. Two very good fighters fighting for contender status. It was a good competitive fight, but Alexey has shown how much he's improved in the last year training with Sugar Hill at the Kronk Gym. He did a very good job, he went ten rounds at a good pace. He's living up to the expectations that we believed he had. He's one of the best cruiserweights in the world and I want to see him something significant or a world title fight in the near future.
"Also on the card was Bakhtiyar Eyubov, he had a first round knockout that was set up by three knockdows. What can I say? He loves to knock people out and he's a big power puncher and he's going to be staying busy. He's 13-0 now and I'm looking for a big step up for him now as well. JaRico O'Quinn is the best prospect in Michigan other than Claressa Shields, and I think he's one of the best prospects in all of boxing, he's a multi-time national champion and he's very excitng. He won a six round decision and looked good doing it. Dimash Niyazov came back from his layoff to get his eleventh win fighting in the lightweight division and he got a fourth round stoppage. All in all it was a great night with a great atmosphere and I'm thrilled to be bringing back big time backing to the city of Detroit."
GL: I've been hearing rumblings that the next card is going to be in early August. What can you tell us about this?
Dmitriy Salita: "That's what we're working on and I'm hoping to make an announcement in the coming days. Just need to finalize a few more pieces."
GL: Closing thoughts?
DS: "Thanks to Boxingtalk for giving the same kind of coverage to all fighters, the guys on top like Lomachenko, Ward and Kovalev get the same attention as some of my prospects and other promoters prospects and I can't speak for anybody else, but I appreciate it."
