GL: How is everything going in preparation? What can we expect to see from you on April 29? Fireworks! I just bust a good grub, but you're going to see fireworks. I'm going to put on a good show, I'm always ready, I'm ready to go now. GL: You busting a good grub, you training so hard that you can eat whatever you want like that? Yeah man, I work hard. The weight is never problem for me.
GL: I've been talking to you for a minute now and I know you've been trying to get big fights, are you disappointed you've been unable to secure one thus far?
Tevin Farmer: "Not really. A year ago I would have been, but I'm at a different place in my life now where I'm going to take the good with the good and the bad with the bad. In due time it will all happen. You can't rush greatness."
GL: What do you know about the guy you're fighting?
TF: "Nothing. If I'm on the level I say I'm on then he shouldn't be a problem no matter what."
GL: What did you think about Lomachenko's recent performance?
TF: "He did what he always does, he looked good. He's sharp, quick, fast everything. He's great."
GL: Is Lomachenko a fight that interests you?
TF: "We actually know each other very well, we've boxed and he knows how good I am. Me and Lomo both know the fight will eventually happen, but it'll happen on better terms. We're two of the best guys, we're two slick southpaws and I think to do the fight later when we could both make a million plus would be better. And plus, we're friends so let it be worth it."
GL: What are you hoping a victory on April 29 leads to?
TF: "A world title, but if it doesn't oh well, I'm just going to keep on fighting."
GL: Your promoter Lou DiBella has told me that you're going to have to be maneuvered into a number one spot in order to get your title shot. It's starting to look he's right.
TF: "He's been right. A mandatory position could take two years. I'm #3 in the WBC and the champion only has to make his mandatory once a year. The guy is fighting the mandatory in June and then his next one won't be due for another year so it is what it is at this point, I don't really care at this point."
GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?
TF: "Keep supporting me and I'm going to keep winning."
