GL: Congrats on your victory. After a good first round, you got outworked in the second and third before taking control of the fight in the fourth round. Why do you think you get off to such slow starts? Thank you, I'm very glad that we were all successful. If you think this was a slow start, that's fine, but the fight was everything I like and everything I planned.
GL: In other words you like to take your time and see what your opponent is bringing to the dance before you decide to open up?
Aleksandr Usyk: "That's exactly correct."
GL: You seem to hurt guys with the left hand even though you're not fully turning on it. Do you think you can do a better job of sitting down and turning on your punches?
AU: "It's something I'm working on and will continue to work on. I want to throw my punches harder, but the guy was able to take so many punches I was starting to think he was made of rubber."
GL: Did the durability of Hunter surprise you? Did anything about him surprise you?
AU: "I was surprised that he was able to take so many punches without dropping. I was surprised and impressed that the referee didn't stop the fight."
GL: I thought the fight should have been stopped in the last round, did you?
AU: "It doesn't matter to me if they stopped it or not, but the referee should do his job more properly to protect the health of the fighter. If the referee thought he was correct, then no problem but I was worried for Hunter's health."
GL: How do you feel about your first experience with Anatoly and Russ Anber in the corner?
AU: "I am very glad to keep working with Lomachenko. I didn't spend a lot of time with Russ Anber, but I like all of the work that he did."
GL: Do you plan to learn English in the future?
AU: "I'm already starting now."
GL: When are you hoping your next fight takes place?
AU: "As soon as possible. I will leave that to my manager and my promoter. I want to fight the best, I want to unify so I will work hard and be ready when the next fight happens."
GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?
AU: "I want to thank my fans for all of their support. I'll see you soon in my future fights."
