Teofimo Lopez TKO2 Daniel Bastien... 2016 Olympian Teofimo Lopez Jr. stopped Mexico's Daniel Bastien in the second round of a lightweight bout. Lopez was born in New York City but represented Honduras in the Olympics. The 19 year-old improved to 3-0 while Bastien falls to 4-3.
Fighting in his hometown, featherweight Jose González knocked down Jhovanny Collado twice and cruised to a six-round decision. Official scores were all 60-53. González is now 7-0-1 while his fellow New Yorker Collado is now 4-12-2.
Puerto Rico's Alexander Picot had little trouble with Ben Garcia, a 35 year-old novice from The Philippines. Picot knocked Garcia down in round two and Garcia was nearly out on his feet. He managed to recover nicely for round three, but didn't do enough to win any of the four rounds in this junior welterweight bout. Official scores were 40-35 and 38-37 (twice) for Picot, who evens up his record at 2-2-1. Garcia falls to 2-1. Boxingtalk scored it for Picot, 40-35.
In the opening bout at Madison Square Garden's Theater, Irish welterweight Larry Fryers knocked down Seattle's Gabriel Solorio en route to a shutout by three scores of 40-35. Fryers is now 3-0 while Solorio falls to 2-4-1.
