POTAPOV WINS RAZOR THIN SPLIT DECISION OVER NIEVES
By G. Leon

Tucker stays undefeated against disenchanted Williams

Wesley Tucker UD8 Ed Williams: Wesley Tucker, 14-0 (8), kept his undefeated record intact in a very ugly fight with Edward Williams. Tucker pressed the action throughout and Williams, 12-2-1 (4), never made it his business to seize this nationally televised opportunity. Williams was content to hold whenever Tucker got close to him and he lost points for rabbit punching in rounds three and four. Hopefully Tucker is matched with an opponent more eager to engage in his next televised appearance. Official scores were 79-71, 78-72, 77-73.

Nikolay Potapov SD 10 Antonio Nieves: In a battle of previously unbeaten bantamweights Nikolay Potapov took Antonio Nieves NABO title in a hotly contested bout. Although it appeared both boxers may have been thinking too much while punching too little, the bout could have gone either way. Boxingtalk thought Nieves should have been given the benefit of the doubt due to the fact the he was the defending titlist and his ring generalship was superior throughout. Boxingtalk scored it 96-94 Nieves. Official score were 96-94 Potapov, 96-94 Nieves, 96-94 Potapov.
