GREER STOPS SMITH, O'QUINN CONTINUES TO IMPRESS
By G. Leon

Joshua Greer Jr TKO6 James Gordon Smith: Bantamweight prospects Joshua Greer Jr, 12-1-1(5), and James Gordon Smith, 11-1 (6), came out banging in the opener of tonight's Shobox telecast. Greer won the opening frame with crisp counter punching that visibly shook Smith on more than one occasion. Round two was another clear Greer round, but Smith was coming on. Smith easily outworked Greer in rounds three and four but found himself on the canvas in the opening moments of round five. Greer managed to survive the round and finished very strongly. Just when it appeared Greer was fading down the stretch, he landed a perfectly placed right hand counter that floored Smith face first. The referee didn't bother to count. Official time of stoppage was 2:06

JaRico O'Quinn TKO1  Szilveszter Kanalas: Up and coming bantamweight JaRico O’Quinn, 6-0 (5), only need 90 seconds or so to impressively stop Hungarian Szilvester Kanales in his first real step up fight of his young career. Official time of stoppage was 1:23

Bakhtiyar Eyubov UD Gilbert Venegas: Undefeated welterweight up and comer Bakhtiyar Eyubov, 12-0 (10), pitched a near shutout against the rugged Gilbert Venegas. Official scores were 60-54, 59-55, 60-54.
