Evander Holyfield: The 84 Olympic team owes a lot of their success to him!
Earlier today legendary boxing trainer, manager and promoter Lou Duva passed away at 94 years of age. Boxingtalk reached out to former three time heavyweight champion Evander "The Real Deal" Holyfield, one of Duva's brightest stars to get his reaction to the news. "Lou lived a very long life, he was the motivator. This is a sad day for boxing, because when you were with Lou, you were family. If you were his fighter, he would fight for you, and literally fight for you if he had to. All of the 1984 Olympic team guys that he worked with owe a lot of their success to him. I'm going to miss him," said Holyfield. Boxingtalk would like to extend it's deepest condolences to Dino Duva, Kathy Duva and the entire Duva family for their loss.
