GL: How is everything going in preparation for your March 10 bout with Edward Williams? I've been training hard and everything is going well, so on March 10 the fans can look forward to seeing some fireworks! GL: What do you know about him as a fighter? I know he's a Detroit fighter, he's tall and lanky, and other than that I don't really know too much about him.
GL: Do you have any concerns fighting a Detroit fighter in his backyard?
Wesley Tucker: "Not at all. I'm close to Detroit too, so you could say I'm from there too."
GL: How do you feel about fighting on Shobox?
WT: "I'm very excited, Salita Promotions and my management have gotten me this opportunity to showcase my talents on TV."
GL: Other than victory do you have a prediction for this fight?
WT: "I'm going to take him to the deep water and drown him. That's what I plan to do and he better be in shape for it."
GL: What are you hoping a victory on March 10 leads to?
WT: "A bigger fight next time out to get me one step closer to fighting for a world title."
GL: What do you consider your biggest advantage coming into this fight?
WT: "My experience."
GL: It's funny I spoke to Williams yesterday and he said his experience was his biggest advantage over you.
WT: (laughs) "I'm really seasoned, so he better be in shape."
GL: He also said you need to be sharp, because if you make a mistake you're going to get hurt.
WT: "I highly doubt that, if he makes a mistakes he's going to get hurt. And when I hurt them they don't recover."
GL: So you haven't looked at any of his fights at all?
WT: "No I haven't, but I can adjust to anybody. I know he's tall, but I got the best sparring in the world over here."
GL: Do you consider Williams your stiffest test to date?
WT: "No, but he's got the best record out of everybody I've fought so far."
GL: Do you expect southpaw style to give him trouble?
WT: "My southpaw style is different, I'm a strong come forward southpaw and most people have a very hard time adjusting to my pressure and my punching power."
GL: Do you feel any extra pressure fighting under the Shobox lights?
WT: "Not at all. I've been in there with the best of the best, I'm used to it."
GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?
WT: "Be expecting a good show on Shobox they're going to be wanting me back for more."
