PIANETA-MINTO POSTPONED; MINTO LEFT IN THE DARK
By Benny "Big Dawg" Henderson Jr.
The October 25th heavyweight match-up between the once-beaten Francesco Pianeta and the former cruiserweight title challenger Brian Minto, scheduled for Germany, has been postponed. The entire card has been scrapped, but Minto was given no details. “Honestly, I don’t know what really happened,” Minto told Boxingtalk. “I received and email that said the bout was postponed and would possibly be rescheduled at a later date.” Minto went on to say, “I heard that Robin Krasniqi [who was to fight in the other headline bout on the show] was injured, along with another fighter on the card, but, Pianeta did not get injured, so I really don’t know.” Minto, who lost out a unanimous decision to the unbeaten Artur Szpilka this past June, is disappointed. “I have been working hard for this bout, and, I am ready to fight.” As far as when or if the bout will be rescheduled, Minto stated, “I don’t even know if the bout will ever be rescheduled, they could just be making excuses Either way, I am ready to fight, so, if anybody wants to fight, just hit me up.” We will continue to follow this story as it unfolds.
