PETERSON RETURNS FROM TESTOSTERONE SCANDAL WITH BEATDOWN OF HOLT
By Scott Shaffer

Lamont Peterson TKO8 Kendall Holt... In his hometown, Washington D.C., Lamont Peterson returned from a scandalous fourteen-month layoff to punish Kendall Holt for a junior welterweight victory. Peterson, now 31-1-1, started slowly for three rounds, but from the fourth round on he landed hard shot after hard shot. Peterson floored Holt, 28-6, in the fourth and sixth rounds and was pummeling Holt against the ropes in the eighth when the referee stepped in for a technical knockout. Peterson's last fight was a 2011 victory over then-world champion Amir Khan which was decided by two ridiculous point deductions against Khan made by referee Joseph Cooper, like Peterson, a resident of the D.C. beltway.  A rematch was scheduled but was cancelled when Peterson tested positive for synthetic testosterone and admitted his use dated back to before his controversial win over Khan. The disgraced Peterson was stripped of his WBA title, but the IBF continued to recognize Peterson as titleholder. The title was retained by Peterson tonight, and whatever his current testosterone situation is, Peterson showed he remains among the very best 140-pounders in the world source: espn2
