HOLLY HOLM, DIANA PRAZAK SET FOR ALBUQUERQUE ACTION
Both boxers make weight
Press Release: The final press conference was held yesterday at Route 66 Casino Hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico for Friday's Fresquez Productions show featuring the IBA/WBF light welterweight title fight between three division world titlist Holly "The Preacher's Daughter" Holm (31-2-3, 9 KOs) and WIBA super featherweight titlist Diana Prazak (11-1, 7 KOs) in the ten-round main event. On Thursday, Holm weighed in at 138.8 pounds, compared to 138 for Prazak. Here are the highlights of the press conference:
Holly Holm: "I'm happy to have this opportunity again. I'm grateful for my coach. I want to prove to him that all this hard work is worth it."
Diana Prazak: "I'm very grateful for the opportunity to come to New Mexico. I'm ready to go. I'm really 130 pounds but I'll jump to 140 anytime. That's all there is to it. We're fighters - that's what we do."
Lucia Rijker (former world champion and Prazak's head trainer): "Prazak is a very powerful fighter. Before this fight was offered to her, she was going to fight Victoria Cisneros at 140 (on the same card). We're here to give a good fight. The bigger the obstacle, the greater the victory."
The undercard fights showcases the following bouts: female light welterweight "Merciless" Mary McGee (19-1) vs. Victoria "La Reina de la Guerra" Cisneros (8-13-2) in a six-round match; light welterweight Matthew Baca (1-0) vs. Derek Perez (pro debut) in a four-round bout; bantamweight Raymond Montez (5-2) vs. Tony Valdez (6-6-3) in an eight-round rematch; and amateur standout Jason Sanchez makes his pro debut in a four-round fight vs. featherweight Gene Perez (1-0).
