GAMBOA-FARENAS WILL BE CHIEF SUPPORT FOR PACQUIAO-MARQUEZ IV
Press Release: Yurirokis Gamboa has a new promoter, music superstar and business entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and for the first time in more than a year, Gamboa alos has a fight. In his first fight since September 10, 2011, Gamboa will be battling Michael Farenas (33-3-4, 25 KOs), of The Philippines at 130 pounds. Gamboa-Farenas will serve as the chief supporting bout for Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez IV on December 8th in Las Vegas. Gamboa (21-0, 16 KOs), who won Olympic gold in 2004 for his native Cuba and now resides in Miami. He boasts victories over Orlando Salido, Jonathan Barros, Jorge Solis and Rogers Mtagwa, and formerly held the WBA regular featherweight title [although Chris John was and remains the true world champion]. Against Farenas, [another bogus belt], the vacant WBA interim 130-pound title will be at stake. The fight will also mark the boxing promotional debut of Jackson and his company SMS Promotions. Jackson has sold over 22 million albums worldwide and launched numerous businesses across a broad spectrum including music ownership, artist management, film production, footwear and clothing, fragrance, video games, publishing and energy drinks.
