GARY SHAW: "ANTHONY MUNDINE IS IN TROUBLE" VS. DANIEL GEALE
Press Releaser: Daniel "Real Deal" Geale (28-1, 15 KOs), and Anthony Mundine (44-4, 26 KOs) will square off in a rematch on January 30, 2013 in Sydney, Australia. Mundine won the first fight, but Geale hasd had the better career since then, winning WBA super and IBF world titles at middleweight. Both fighters hail from Australia, but one has stated his reasoning on why he's going to lose. Mundine recently came out and said that Geale's international promoter, Gary Shaw, and his relationship with the IBF is the reason he might lose this fight. Shaw replied that, "Mundine is coming up with every excuse on why he's going to lose his fight with Daniel. This obviously shows me he is lacking confidence in his ability to beat Geale. Just because I promote shows internationally, doesn't mean I'm always on the winning end of each fight. This man is clearly delusional and I believe reality is starting to set in about Geale being a different fighter this time around. He knows he's in for a long night." In 2009, Geale suffered his first loss when Mundine defeated him by way of split decision. Since then, Geale has claimed world titles by defeating Sebastian Sylvester (34-5-1) and Felix Sturm (36-3-2). "Mundine is in trouble," said Gary Shaw. "Geale is a much improved fighter since they last met and the world will see a major shift on how this fight is going to play out. He can say all he wants about the judging in this fight, but what he needs to be worried about is getting off the canvas." Tickets can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com.
