HELENIUS NAMED WBO #1
The WBO has elevated Robert Helenius to its #1 ranking in the heavyweight division. Helenius returned to action this month with a points victory over Sherman Williams after 11 months off due to an injury. Dennis Boytsov, inactive since April with no fight scheduled, was dropped from #1 to #2 by the WBO after declining an opportunity to face Tyson Fury due to not being in top shape. Wladimir Klitschko is the WBO's heavyweight champion, but because of the nuber of defenses he had made, Klitschko is subject to relaxed mandatory defense requirements under WBO regulations. -Scott Shaffer
