BRAYDON SMITH HURTS HAND IN WIN DOWN UNDER

Braydon Smith W6 Phisanuthep Chaiyonggym ... Braydon Smith must ascertain the extent of his hand injury after extending his unbeaten record against Phisanuthep Chaiyonggym (3-7) despite a possible broken hand. Now 5-0, Smith scored a unanimous points decision over six rounds of a featherweight bout held in Queensland, Australia over the weekend. Smith said after the fight he thought he had broken his right hand in the third round but fought on. His trainer, Brendon Smith said a couple of days later that the hand was still badly swollen. "We suspect (it's broken) in two places at the moment," Brendon Smith said. "We'll get X-rays in the morning. He's going to be out for the rest of the year, no doubt. He did a tremendous effort to deal with it."
Jack Asis W8 Maxsaisai ... On the same card, featherweight Jack Asis won a unanimous decision after eight rounds against Maxsaisai Sithsaithong (listed as 12-1). Asis was in control throughout, and took his record to 27-18-4. "It was great to see how he handled the southpaw. And it gives us plenty to work on in the gym," trainer Brendon Smith said.
Brett Peters KO1 Josh Webb... Heavyweight Brett Peters is now 4-0 thanks to a big first round knockout of debutant Josh Webb. Peters caught Webb with a big right hand just before the bell for the end of round one sounded.
