UNDERCARD FOR SEP. 15 IN GERMANY ANNOUNCED
Press Release: The undecard for the Bamberg, Germany card featuring IBF cruiserweight champion Yoan Pablo Hernandez against Troy Ross (25-2, 16 KOs) has been announced by promoter Sauerland Event. Middleweight Dominik Britsch (26-0-1, 9 KOs) is trying to erase any doubts in people's minds when he again faces off with Spaniard Roberto Santos (17-6-2, 9 KOs). Their first encounter ended in a draw. The balance of the card includes heavyweight Edmund Gerber as well as Austria's finest active boxer, middleweight Marcos Nader.
When it comes to Gerber (20-0, 13 KOs), Wilfried Sauerland makes no secret about his opinion. On numerous occasions Sauerland has claimed that Gerber is the greatest heavyweight talent to come out of Germany. The 24-year-old recently beat heavyweights Ukrainian Oleksy Mazikin and, in a close fight, American Maurice Harris. In Bamberg, Gerber will lock horns with Michael Sprott (36-18, 17 KOs), who is no stranger when it comes to top heavyweights. The former British and Commonwealth champion will be another step up in class for the student of coach Karsten Roewer. "Michael Sprott is an experienced boxer who faced some decent opposition in his career. This is not going to be an easy fight for me, but his style matches up well with mine so the fans are in for some fireworks," said Gerber.
Marcos Nader (15-0, 2 KOs) faces Frenchman Damien Bertu (25-6-1, 7 KOs). However, beating Bertu might not be an easy task to accomplish for the 22-year-old. "He is a bit taller than me and always tries to take advantage of his long reach against someone of my size. Therefore, I will try to pick my way to mix it up with him on the inside. That will be the key to success against Bertu," said Nader. In regards to a possible title fight after his upcoming bout he said: "I heard that it is planned for early November and will be staged in my home country of Austria. But before I even think about that, I have to make sure that I will be victorious on September 15th. Beating Bertu is my top-priority at the moment."
