EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: ANTHONY WILSON
By Monte Barrett

I recently had a chance to speak with trainer Anthony "Chill" Wilson, the trainer of ex-WBA title holder Joachim Alcine.  On September 15th, Alcine will fight Matthew Macklin on the undercard of the Sergio Martinez-Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. show on HBO pay-per-view.

MB: Chill how's everything going for your preparation for your fighter upcoming fight?

Chill Wilson: Everything is going good. We are in Ft Lauderdale Hollywood getting some great sparring

MB; What are your thoughts on the upcoming Macklin fight?

CW: Macklin is a good fighter. He just fought Martinez. I didn't see the fight but some people told me he was ahead on the score cards. Looking at Macklin he's not going to change but so much
but he's durable and he keeps coming and that's what we are prepared for.

MB: Whats the biggest difference with Alcine since his last fight?

CW; He's focused and is the best shape of his life sparring up to 70 rounds today the man can fight today, his weight is good he's going in as a sleeper. But if you sleep on him you'll get put to sleep.

MB: When you think about this fight what do you think this victory would mean to his career ?

CW: It would be a great victory for him,it's a shame that we have to take these heavy guys since nobody want to fight us in
the 147-154 but we are up for the task and ready. After this fight nobody won't be able to duck him for long. When Alcine fought before he had to many people in his ear with not enough time to get officially ready. Now he's has his own camp with more then enough time to get ready. From his last three fights he has done a 180 on preparation.

MB; What are your predictions on this fight?

CW: You can't nothing away from Macklin, but I wish it was twelve,I don't think it's going to go ten and if he does go he will be brutally hurt. Spiritually and mentally we are there. He's a family man and a true Christian and he's focus on him getting this win.

MB: Your final thoughts to your fans ?

CW: This is the biggest fight of his life and redemption is knocking on his door,he's extremely focused this will be a great performance from Alcine. He's in zone and he knows what's at stake and he's ready.

Boxingtalk would like to welcome heavyweight title challenger Monte Barrett to our team. Readers can look forward to many more interviews from him in the future.
