AUSTRALIAN UPDATE

Just days after securing the biggest wins of their career, Smithy’s Gym boxers Jack Asis, Brayd Smith and Les Sherrington, are settling back into their lives.  Philippine junior lightweight Jack Asis (a revitalized 26-18-4) got a warm reception from Toowoomba, Australia’s Philippine community upon returning home. He's now spending his week off in the company of friends, going to church and enjoying a popular Philippine past time, Karaoke. The happy boxer shows no signs of the ferocity that saw him score a seventh-round stoppage over Japan's Ryusei Yoshida (22-4). Toowoomba’s Brayd Smith (4-0) is using his week off to catch up on his law studies. He missed the opening week of university training for a sixth-round stoppgae of Thai opponent [Wanpadejsek Sithsaithong (2-15) according to boxrec] over the weekend. Les Sherrington (29-6) is preparing for one of the biggest events of his life, the birth of his first child. With a baby girl expected to arrive within a week, Sherrington has been relaxing with his wife, sharing a love which was definitely not present when he outboxed Mexico's “Yori Boy” Campas (100-17-1) on Saturday. All three Australians will be back in the gym next week to begin training for their next fights, expected to take place in October or November.
