Victor Zaleta D12 Juan Jose Montes... In Guadalajara, Mexico, Juan Jose Montes came in three pounds over the 115-pound weight limit and fought Victor Zaleta to a draw with a minor title at stake. Zaleta would have won by decision were it not for a point deduction by referee Jesus Salcedo for a low blow. The judges handed in scores of 115-112 Montes, 114-114 and 115-112 Zaleta, resulting in a draw. Ravshan Hudaynazarov W8 Euri Gonzalez... In Las Vegas on Saturday, Ravshan Hudaynazarov improved to 16-0 by convincingly defeating Euri Gonzalez (20-2-1) by unanimous decision in an eight-round junior middleweight bout. All three ringside judges saw it in Hudaynazarov's favor seven rounds to one. The former Uzbekistan amateur boxing standout celebrated his 28th birthday last night. Also inLas Vegas, welterweight Joseph Elegele (13-1), fighting out of Winter Haven, Florida, floored Philadelphia's Lanard Lane (13-2) once to win by majority decision (77-74, 76-75, 78-76) in a spirited eight round co-feature. source: golden boy Sadam Ali TKO8 Franklin Gonzalez... Sadam Ali took out Franklin Gonzalez in the eighth round of a welterweight bout in Brooklyn, New York, a perfect ending for Ali who also doubled as the event's promoter though his new company, Worldkid Promotions. Ali (15-0) used both hands and continued backed Gonzalez throughout the contest and finally scored a knockdown in round eight. An Ali combination sent Gonzalez (15-10) down for a second time and the bout was stopped at 2:22 of round eight. UNDERCARD RESULTS... On the Brooklyn undercard, Jennifer Santiago made a successful pro debut with a four-round unanimous decision over Mikaya Nebal (0-2) in a super bantamweight bout... Steven Gamache of New York made it 3-0 with a four-round unanimous decision over Willie Bryant (0-4-1) at junior middleweight... Queens native Armin Mrkanovic (3-1) stopped Daniel Pietch (0-1) in the fourth round of their cruiserweight bout... In the opening bout it was a battle of pro debuts that saw Brooklyn’s Akil Frederick stop Jamil Gadsen in the second round of a middleweight contest.
Joel Diaz Jr. TKO5 Emmanuel Lucero ... Junior lightweight Joel Diaz Jr. scored a fifth-round stoppage of Emmanuel Lucero in Tacoma, Washington on Saturday. The aggressive 20-year-old Palmdale, CA native decked Lucero in the third round and in the fifth, he decked Lucero twice, forcing the referee to halt the bout at 1:37. Diaz improves to (10-0, 9 KOs). Chonlatarn Or Piriyapinyo KO6 Richard Olisa... In Thailand, “Dangerous River” Chonlatarn Or Piriyapinyo knocked out Richard Olisa of the Philippines in the sixth round of a featherweight bout. Piriyapinyo's record now stands at 44-0, while Olisa drops to 23-18-2.
