Shumenov announces next fight: On June 2nd at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, light heavyweight Beibut Shumenov will face Enrique Ornelas in a light heavyweight bout. At stake will be Shumenov's paper WBA title. Shumenov, 12-1, has not fought since last July. Ornelas, 33-7, has been marking time since losing a 2010 168-pound title bid to Robert Stieglitz. Fox Sports Net and Fox Deportes will televise.
Powell steps in to face Rosado: Junior middleweights Sechew Powell (pictured) and Gabriel Rosado face each other on Friday, June 1st in the main event on NBC Sports Network's Fight Night boxing series, live from the Sands in Bethlehem, PA. Powell, who is in camp with Delvin Rodriguez, replaces ailing Joel Julio, who withdrew from the fight. The co-feature, also scheduled for twelve rounds, pits unbeaten Ronald Cruz against Prenice Brewer in a welterweight bout.
