SEMINOLES SCALP MARGULES: FORGET THE FIGHTERS JUST GIVE US THE CAR KEYS!!

Earlier this week Boxingtalk.com broke the news that Seminole Warriors Boxing is no more. Our understanding is that the dismissal of Leon Margules, who was ordered to surrender the keys to his company car, could have been handled differently. Differently meaning better. Margules is a bright guy who understands the business, so being in a position of control, chances are he saw the writing on the wall. Did Margules see the end coming as far back as two years ago when he virtually hooked up Lou DiBella with half of Glen Johnson for next to nothing? That's tough to say.

It's not difficult to conclude however, that Margules recently brought in Dan Goossen to co-promote Edison Miranda to ensure that Miranda's career continues to progress when the company folds, an honorable gesture IF and only IF Margules no longer earns on Miranda's fights, which remains to be seen and was a question Dan Goossen didn't care to answer earlier today.  Fact is, the boxers were originally signed to a company that will no longer exist, not Margules.

Don't be surprised if IBF junior welterweight champion Juan Urango, has a new co-promoter soon. Other Warriors talent, guys like Randall Bailey, Sechew Powell and Joe Greene could be looking at new co-promoters or flat out releases.

Also look for Margules to keep himself thoroughly involved in the boxing business. He's a capable attorney and would be an asset to many promoters.

Again, if his moves to realign talent with new co-promoters were done with the fighters futures in mind, Margules should be applauded. If the moves were made for HIM to keep earning from these guys when Warriros Boxing is no more, he should be arraigned.
