EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: JOEL CASAMAYOR

GL: What can we expect to see from El Cepillo on Friday night? "I'm going to get back into rhythm. It's been like a year off so I wantm to get this win under my belt and open up 2010 with a splash. It's the right fight and the right time for me to get back into it."

GL: What do you know about your opponent and are you expecting him to last long?

Joel Casamayor: "I don't know much about him, but I'm in shape and I'm going to be ready to go against whatever they put in front of me."

GL: What are you hoping a victory on Friday night leads to?

JC: "I'm hoping a victory leads to this rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez. I also see Timothy Bradley out there and he would be perfect. I would also like to fight Valero in the right arena, so hopefully something falls into my hands."

GL: What are your goals for 2010?

JC: "I want to get my fifth world title in my third weight class, at 140 pounds. I want to make a statement at 140 and get a huge fight. I want to close out my career like a champion should."

GL: Is there a chance that this could be your last year boxing regardless how things turn out?

JC: "I was looking at two years, but this might be the last one depending on how things turn out. Look at all these kids out there, I know I can take them to school on any given night."

GL: Closing thoughts?

JC: "I want the rematch for 2010. We want Marquez back in the ring so we can close the book on him and then move on to 140 and making noise."
